Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted in Iran and India. The name “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and describes a simple, rustic rug style. Since the 1990s, they have been gaining popularity as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and cool geometric or animal motifs. They are usually made of wool, available in sizes ranging from small mats to large carpets, and fit well into any living space design. Their patterns can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people.
