Pakistani carpet production is mainly concentrated in Lahore and Karachi, where many carpet weavers fled during the Indo-Pakistani War. Hand-knotted Pakistani Bukhara carpets are particularly well known. Similar to Afghan Oriental carpets, they feature dark colours with dominant red tones and a characteristic octagonal pattern.
