Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted variants due to their hand-woven manufacturing process. They lack the high wool pile and are usually flatter and rougher. This less elaborate design generally makes them more affordable. They are also lighter and more versatile, as they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also manufactured in India. Their simple, linear patterns are characteristic of their special weaving technique.
