Description
Kilim rugs differ fundamentally from hand-knotted rugs in their hand-weaving technique, which does not produce a high wool pile, making them flatter and rougher. This simplified production process results in lower prices. Kelim rugs are lighter and more versatile as they can be used on both sides and are easier to wash. Originally from Persia, they are also manufactured in India and are characterised by simple, linear patterns created by their special weaving technique.
