Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted varieties in that they are hand-woven without a thick wool pile, making them flatter and rougher. This simplicity allows for more cost-effective production. Kilim rugs are also lighter and more versatile, as they can be used on both sides and are easier to wash. Originally from Persia, they are also manufactured in India and feature characteristically simple, linear patterns created by a special weaving technique.
