Description
Kilim rugs differ fundamentally from hand-knotted rugs in that they are hand-woven without a thick wool pile, making them flatter and more robust. This results in lower manufacturing costs. They are lighter and more versatile, as they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also manufactured in Afghanistan. Their simple, linear patterns are created using a special weaving technique. These rugs are therefore a cultural link to the past and a practical choice for modern interiors that value traditional craftsmanship and functionality.
