Description
Kilim rugs are woven by hand, unlike hand-knotted rugs, and do not have a high wool pile, which makes them flatter and rougher. This production method is less labour-intensive and therefore less expensive. They are lighter and can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, kilims are now also produced in Afghanistan. Their patterns are simple and straightforward, typical of their weaving technique. This gives them a unique character that is both traditional and functional, ideal for modern living spaces looking for an authentic, handcrafted aesthetic.
