Description
Kilim rugs differ from hand-knotted rugs in that they are hand-woven, without a high wool pile and with a flatter, rougher texture. This makes them more affordable. They are lighter and more versatile, as they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are now also produced in Afghanistan. Their patterns are simple and straightforward, due to their weaving technique.
