Description
Kilim rugs differ from hand-knotted varieties in their hand-weaving technique. They do not have a high wool pile, are flatter and rougher, which explains their lower production costs. Lighter than other rugs, kilims can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, they are also produced in Afghanistan. Their patterns are often simple and linear, due to the weaving technique.
