Description
Kilim rugs differ significantly from hand-knotted rugs in that they are woven by hand. They do not have a high wool pile, are flatter and rougher, which makes them more affordable. Due to their lower weight, they can be used on both sides. Originally from Persia, kilim rugs are now also widely produced in Afghanistan. They are characterised by their simple, linear patterns, which are created by the weaving technique.
