Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, include the popular Gabbeh carpets, named after the Farsi term for "raw". Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs impress with their thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, abstract or figurative with motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, occasionally also of cotton or other materials. The carpets vary in size from small mats to large pieces and fit into any room.
