Description
Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, represent the traditional art of Gabbeh carpets. The word “Gabbeh” comes from Farsi and means “raw”, referring to their simple and rustic nature. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a relaxed alternative to classic Persian rugs, which are often associated with traditional interiors. Gabbeh rugs are known for their thick, luxurious pile, variety of colours and bold geometric patterns. These patterns can be abstract or figurative, often depicting animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variations made of cotton and other materials. Their size varies from small mats to large rugs, and they are suitable for any room in the house, bringing versatile and artistic elements to the home.
