Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, include the popular Gabbeh carpets, whose name means "raw" in Farsi. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns, whether abstract or figurative with motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, some are also made of cotton or other materials. Their size varies from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room in the home.
