Loom Lori rugs, hand-woven in India, include the popular Gabbeh rugs, whose name means “raw” in Farsi. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed increasing popularity as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns, either abstract or figurative with motifs such as animals or people.
