Gabbeh carpets are hand-knotted in Iran and India. "Gabbeh" means "raw" in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have been a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. With thick, luxurious pile and a variety of colours, Gabbehs feature geometric and animal motifs, abstract or representational. Mostly made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
