Description
Gabbeh, the Persian word for “raw”, describes rustic carpets that have become increasingly popular since the early 1990s. They offer a relaxed, folksy alternative to traditional Persian carpets, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have thick pile, intense colours and bold geometric patterns. These rugs can feature abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials. They range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
