Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, are known for their rustic style, which translates as "raw" in Farsi. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, many colours and feature cool, geometric and animal motifs, abstract or figurative. Mostly made of wool, they range from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
