Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted rugs from Iran and India, whose name means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to more formal Persian carpets. Gabbehs are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and cool geometric and animal motifs, either abstract or representational. Usually made of wool, they range in size from small mats to large carpets, suitable for any room in the house.
