Description
Gabbeh carpets are knotted in Iran and India. “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and refers to simple, rustic carpets. Since the 1990s, they have been popular as a relaxed, folk alternative to traditional Persian carpets. They are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric or animal patterns. Gabbeh carpets are usually made of wool, sometimes cotton, and are available in various sizes.
