Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi and embody a simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs have a thick pile, many colours and feature cool geometric or animal motifs, abstract or representational. Usually made of wool on wool, they range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house. They offer luxury and are ideal for cosy interior design far removed from the formality of traditional rug types.
