Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted works of art from Iran and India. The name “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic rug style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, diverse colour palette and bold geometric or animal motifs, whether abstract or figurative. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and are suitable for any interior design in the home.
