Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted in Iran and India. The name means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile and come in a variety of colours. They feature cool, geometric and animal motifs, either abstract or representational. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
