Description
Gabbeh rugs are hand-knotted works of art from Iran and India. “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic rug style. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, which are often associated with formal interior design. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile and feature a variety of colours and cool, geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or representational. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and are suitable for any room in the home.
