Description
Gabbeh means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic rugs that have become increasingly popular since the early 1990s. They offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, known for their luxurious interior design. Gabbeh rugs are characterised by thick pile, diverse colours and bold, geometric patterns. These patterns can be abstract or representational, often featuring animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials. Gabbehs range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the home.
