Gabbeh, which means “raw” in Farsi, is a rustic type of carpet that has been popular since the 1990s. As a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets, it goes well with folk interior design. Gabbeh carpets have thick pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large area rugs, suitable for any area of the home.
