Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and refers to rustic carpets that have become increasingly popular since the early 1990s. They offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets and go well with folk interior design. Gabbeh carpets have a thick pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often abstract or figurative with motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials in various sizes for every room use.
