Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have become popular as an alternative to traditional Persian carpets due to their relaxed style. Gabbeh carpets have a thick pile, many colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, they also come in cotton or other materials and range in size from small mats to large rugs for any room in the house.
