Description
Gabbeh, which means “raw” in Persian, refers to simple, rustic carpets. They have become popular since the early 1990s as they offer a more relaxed, folk-art alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh carpets are characterised by a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns. The designs can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Gabbeh rugs are usually made of wool and vary in size from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room in the house.
