Description
Gabbeh means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic carpets. Since the 1990s, they have been popular as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. They are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold, geometric patterns that can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Gabbeh carpets are usually made of wool, sometimes cotton or other materials. They vary in size from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
