Description
The term “gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and refers to a simple, rustic rug. Since the early 1990s, they have become popular as an alternative to traditional Persian rugs due to their relaxed, folk art nature. Gabbeh rugs have a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold, geometric patterns, sometimes abstract or featuring animals and people. Made from wool, cotton or other materials, they range in size from small mats to large rugs for any room in the house.
