The term "Gabbeh" means "raw" in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic rug. Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbeh rugs have a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, they are also available in cotton. They come in a variety of sizes and are suitable for any room in the house.
