Description
Gabbeh rugs, named after the Farsi word for “raw”, have become popular since the early 1990s. They offer a relaxed, more folksy alternative to traditional Persian rugs. These rugs have a thick pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often featuring abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variations made of cotton or other materials. They vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
