Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic carpet. Gabbeh carpets have become popular since the 1990s as they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. They are characterised by thick pile, a variety of colours and bold, geometric patterns. The designs are often abstract or figurative, with depictions of animals or people. Gabbeh carpets are usually made of wool, occasionally cotton, and are available in various sizes to suit any room.
