Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi. Since the 1990s, they have offered a more relaxed alternative to formal Persian rugs. These rustic rugs have a thick pile, many colours and feature cool, geometric or animal motifs. Mostly made of wool, they range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room. Gabbehs are known for their simplicity and versatility, far removed from traditional elegance, which enhances their popularity as cosy interior design elements.
