Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi and are known for their simplicity. More popular since the 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets, which are often more formal. They have a thick pile, varied colours and feature cool geometric or animal motifs, abstract or representational. Mostly made of wool on wool, they vary in size from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
