Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean "raw" in Persian and have offered a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs since the 1990s. They are known for their thick pile, diverse colour palette and bold patterns, often geometric or with animal motifs. Mostly made of wool, but also cotton and other materials, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit well in any room of the house, thanks to their rustic beauty and cultural depth.
