Description
Gabbeh carpets, knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Farsi and have become increasingly popular since the 1990s. As a rustic alternative to traditional Persian carpets, they create a relaxed atmosphere. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and often feature geometric or animal motifs. Made of wool on wool, they range from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room. Their patterns can be abstract or representational and often depict animals or people.
