Description
Gabbeh rugs are knotted in Iran and India. “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic rugs. Since the 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric and animal motifs. The patterns vary from abstract to figurative, often featuring animals or people. Gabbeh carpets are usually made of wool and are available in various sizes to suit any room in the house.
