Gabbeh rugs, originating in Iran and India, mean "raw" in Persian and are known for their simplicity. Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular, offering a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs and fitting well with folk interiors. These rugs have thick pile, rich colour variety and often cool geometric or animal motifs. Mostly made of wool, they range from small mats to large rugs and are suitable for any room in the house thanks to their diverse designs, which feature abstract or representational patterns and often depict animals or people.
