Description
Gabbeh rugs, from the Persian word for “raw”, are robust rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India. Increasingly popular since the 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. With thick pile, rich colours and bold geometric or animal motifs, they are versatile in their use. Made mainly from wool, they range in size from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room. Their patterns, abstract or figurative, often featuring animals or people, lend a folkloric charm to any space and bear witness to traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
