Description
Gabbeh rugs are sturdy, hand-knotted rugs from Iran and India. The name “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and describes their simple, rustic nature. Since the 1990s, they have become popular as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. With thick, luxurious pile, they offer a variety of colours and cool geometric or animal motifs. They are typically made of wool on wool and range from small mats to large rugs that can be used in any room. Their patterns can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people.
