Description
Pakistani carpet production is mainly concentrated around the cities of Lahore and Karachi. Many carpet weavers fled to Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War and shaped the art of hand-knotting there. Particularly well known are the hand-knotted Pakistan Bukhara carpets, which, similar to Afghan Oriental carpets, use dark colours, especially red. A characteristic feature is the repeating octagonal pattern, which can be perfectly combined with current trends and preferences in interior design.
