Description
Gabbeh carpets are hand-knotted works from Iran and India. “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic carpet style. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed great popularity as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbehs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold geometric or animal motifs, whether abstract or figurative. Usually made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and are suitable for any room in the house.
