Gabbeh rugs, originating in Iran and India, mean "raw" in Farsi and offer a rustic alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Since the 1990s, their popularity has been growing as they create a relaxed, folk atmosphere. These carpets have a thick pile, a diverse colour palette and often feature geometric or animal motifs, abstract or representational. Mostly made of wool, they range in size from small mats to large carpets, ideal for any room in the house.
