Pakistani carpet production is mainly concentrated around Lahore and Karachi. Originally, many carpet weavers fled to Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War and shaped the industry there. Today, hand-knotted Pakistani Bukhara carpets are particularly well known. Similar to Afghan oriental carpets, they are dark and often red in colour, with recurring octagonal patterns. These traditional designs can be ideally combined with current trends and interior design preferences, giving them a timeless elegance in both classic and modern living spaces.
