Description
Pakistani carpet production flourishes mainly in Lahore and Karachi, where many carpet weavers fled during the Indo-Pakistani War. Particularly well known are the hand-knotted Pakistan Bukhara carpets, similar to Afghan Oriental carpets, in dark colours with a dominant red. A characteristic octagonal pattern characterises their design. These carpets can be perfectly combined with current interior design trends, and their traditional craftsmanship makes them sought-after pieces that offer both historical significance and aesthetic relevance in modern living spaces.
