Gabbeh, Persian for "raw," have been increasingly popular since the early 1990s as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They feature thick pile, diverse colours, and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative designs such as animals or people. Made mainly from wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit well in any room of the house.
