Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and refers to simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have become popular as an alternative to traditional Persian carpets due to their relaxed style. Gabbeh carpets have a thick pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials, in sizes ranging from small mats to large carpets, suitable for any room in the house.
