Description
Loom Lori carpets, hand-woven in India, represent an artistic tradition. The term “Gabbeh” comes from Persian and means “raw”, describing their simple, rustic nature. Since the early 1990s, they have gained popularity by offering a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbeh rugs are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, a wide range of colours and bold, geometric patterns. These patterns can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variations made of cotton or other materials. Their size varies from small mats to large rugs, and they can be used in any room of the house. Gabbeh rugs embody craftsmanship and are popular for their warmth, durability and aesthetic versatility.
