Gabbeh rugs from Iran and India are knotted and known for their simplicity and rusticity. The term "Gabbeh" means "raw" in Farsi and describes a simple, traditional rug style. Since the early 1990s, they have enjoyed growing popularity as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, come in a variety of colours and often feature cool geometric or animal motifs, either abstract or representational.
